Job summary

JD Sports Germany & Austria is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Strøget store in Copenhagen. You will support the Store Manager daily, lead a team and drive KPIs to deliver the best possible customer experience.

You will train staff, assist with recruitment and inductions, monitor dashboards, and ensure floor coverage during peak times while maintaining excellent service and visual standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading and motivating a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• IT skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with day-to-day store operations and KPI management.
• Train and career plan staff; support recruitment and inductions.
• Monitor dashboards to achieve targets and KPI; drive improvements.
• Provide supervisory help on the sales floor and sell when needed.
• Ensure staffing levels cover peak and trough periods.
• Motivate customers with excellent service and visual merchandising.

Role Overview

In this role, you will assist the Store Manager in the day to day running of the store. Taking ownership of a number of duties while making sure that the stores KPIs are achieved.

Employees

• Train and making career plans together with the store manager for internal employees and promote progression within the group.
• Assist with store recruitment, new starter inductions, and staff training.
• Ensure and analyzing the store's dashboard to achieve targets and KPI and, where possible, exceeded.
• Supervisory help is always available on the sales floor, selling personally where necessary.
• The staffing structure in the branch allows adequate floor coverage at all times taking into account normal peaks and troughs in the sales pattern.

Customer Service

• Motivate and train the team to ensure that customers are given courteous, considerate and responsible advice.
• Deal with all customer complaints, whether out of service or merchandise, according to company policy, ensuring that they are handled promptly , courteously and objectively.
• Support the Team in making the customers encouraged to return as a result of courteous and competent service.
• Attract, engage and motivate customers into making purchases in store by using the latest visual techniques.
• Ensure that all merchandise is correctly priced, price amendments are actioned and all POS is correctly displayed.
• Keep stock on display clean and presentable at all times.
