Job summary

Wrist is building an AI-enabled Group Digital function and seeks an experienced AI Engineer to lead the design, development and deployment of AI agents and workflows. You will collaborate with developers, architects and stakeholders to shape the AI platform and ensure secure, governed AI solutions.

You will contribute across the SDLC, from specification to release, and act as a senior technical sparring partner while guiding the team through prototyping and implementation.

Qualifications

• At least five years in software or data science with AI focus.
• Experience building AI-powered solutions, not just using AI tools.
• Strong software architecture, integrations and production systems understanding.

Job description

Wrist has clear ambitions for how AI should support Group Digital in the years ahead. The goal is to make AI a more integrated part of how software is developed, how the business is supported, and how new digital solutions are built.

That requires people with the technical background and the experience to make sound technical choices and turn ideas into solutions that work in an enterprise environment.

Building the AI capability at Wrist

The ambition includes using AI to fundamentally transform how we work across the software development lifecycle, our ongoing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementation, and the numerous business processes that today require significant manual work.

The projects you will contribute to include developing intelligent automation to support Wrist's customer Request for Quote process and implementing agentic AI to increase our capacity to deliver software and digital solutions to the business.

Wrist has not locked itself into a single model provider, framework, or technical setup. The platform, architecture, and governance are still being shaped, so there is scope to influence everything from how we separate applications from model providers and how we run our agents and give them access to tools and enterprise systems, to the guardrails, evaluations and processes that help turn a prototype into something the business can count on.

Your role in Group Digital

As AI Engineer, you will take a central role in building and developing the use of AI within Group Digital.

You will report to the Head of AI & Data Excellence and join a small AI team of approximately 3-5 people. You will work closely with developers, architects, and stakeholders across the digital organisation.

A key part of the role is looking beyond individual AI tools: identifying where AI can improve development processes, remove bottlenecks and create genuine business value - and then turning those opportunities into working solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, building and deploying AI agents and agentic workflows for software development and business processes with developers across Group Digital.

• Helping define the AI platform, architecture, and technology choices for Group Digital.

• Taking part in evaluating models, frameworks, and tools against our business and technical needs.

• Helping ensure AI solutions are reliable and secure, and work within the governance we put in place.

• Applying AI throughout the software development lifecycle, including specification, development, testing, documentation and release.

• Being a senior technical sparring partner in the AI team and for developers and architects elsewhere in Group Digital.

The role combines technical direction, architecture, and hands-on implementation. You should therefore be comfortable moving between the bigger picture and building or prototyping concrete solutions.

Your background

You have at least five years of relevant technical experience and a strong foundation in software development or data science. You have built solutions that leverage AI rather than only using AI tools, and you have formed views on what works and what does not.

You are curious and self-driven, and comfortable identifying opportunities rather than waiting for fully defined AI use cases.

We see the following as particularly important:

• A solid background in software development or data science and a good understanding of software architecture, integrations and production systems.

• Practical experience building solutions with LLMs, AI agents, or related technologies.

• The ability to understand how models, agents, data, tools, and enterprise systems fit together.

• A strong awareness of data security, governance, and the risks involved when AI is introduced into real business processes.

You do not necessarily need to come from a traditional AI Engineer position. Your background could be as a senior software engineer, technical lead, architect or similar, provided AI has become a significant part of what you work with.

Experience with Python, agent orchestration, tool calling, MCP, RAG, context engineering or evaluation frameworks will be an advantage.

A role with real influence

Not everything has been decided yet, and that is an important part of the role. You will need to be comfortable challenging ideas, testing different approaches and helping set the technical direction.

In return, you join early enough for your technical judgement to genuinely influence how Wrist works with AI. You will help build the setup while staying close to the technology through prototyping and implementation.

The position is based at Wrist's office in Nørresundby, with flexibility to work from home when coordinated with the team.
