Job summary

Bang & Olufsen seeks an acoustics engineer to turn acoustic insight into high-performance audio products. You will influence sound quality from concept to implementation, prototyping, testing, and refining electroacoustic systems in a collaborative team. Strong DSP, MATLAB/Python skills, and English communication are essential.

The role is based in Struer, Denmark, with occasional travel and a focus on delivering premium sound experiences across our audio product line.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering with emphasis in acoustics or DSP.
• Ability to design, prototype, verify and drive audio hardware systems.
• Understanding of DSP, signals and systems, and audio system design.
• Experience with acoustic measurements.

Do you enjoy turning acoustic insight into products people can hear and experience? Are you motivated by shaping the sound performance of products and contributing to the iconic audio heritage of Bang & Olufsen?

As part of our partner product team, you will work across material acoustics and mechanical acoustics to influence how products sound from the earliest concepts through to final implementation. We're looking for an engineer who combines technical depth with a hands‑on mindset, someone who enjoys experimenting, building, testing, and refining solutions that bring exceptional sound experiences to life.

Key responsibilities

• Design, specify, and implement audio products & acoustic solutions
• Demonstrate acoustical performance by prototyping and simulations
• Perform acoustic measurements and validate acoustical system performance
• Lead and co-operate with partners for high‑quality execution
• Work closely with Audio software and DSP teams, as well as mechanical engineers, electronic engineers, and Industrial Design/CMF to optimize the acoustic performance
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, contributing insights to the technology strategy and product introductions
• Explore, design and prototype new acoustical technologies and audio features

What you bring

We are looking for an acoustics engineer with a strong foundation in physical acoustics and a passion for developing electroacoustic and electromechanical systems. You enjoy translating acoustic principles into practical solutions and bringing products from concept to reality.

Moreover, you bring:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in the field of Sciences, such as Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Electrical or other applicable Engineering discipline with emphasis in audio and/or DSP
• Ability to design, prototype, verify and drive audio hardware systems
• Understanding of digital signal processing, signals and systems, and audio systems design
• Understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics and transducers (Micro transducer knowledge is a plus)
• Understanding of mechanical and material acoustics
• Programming experience with scripting languages (e.g. MATLAB, python)
• Effective communication skills in English
• Experience with and understanding of acoustic measurements
