Job summary

FOSS is seeking an Accounting Lead at our headquarters in Hillerød, Denmark. You will own Accounts Receivable processes and, at the same time, lead and develop the Group Accounting team in a journey toward automated, data-driven analytics.

You will help move our finance function from transactional work to insight and partnerships with the business, guiding the team through SAP S/4HANA and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an accounting role, with progression toward analysis and process ownership (Accounts Receivable)
• Hands-on experience with AR processes: credit management, payment application, dunning/collections, reconciliations
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA
• Strong Excel capabilities
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Experience leading more than one employee and developing others

Responsibilities

• Own and operate Accounts Receivable processes including payments, debtors, credit management, dunning, and collections
• Drive process optimization and increased use of AI in Accounts Receivable
• Analyze data and deviations and act on unusual patterns

Do you want to lead a team and own Accounts Receivable at the same time – while helping a finance function move from transactional focus to insight and process ownership? As part of an ongoing transformation of our finance function – driven by the implementation of SAP S/4HANA and increased automation – we are strengthening our Group Accounting team and are now looking for an Accounting Lead.

You will work from our headquarters in Hillerød, Denmark, and become part of a purpose-driven, international organization where professionalism, collaboration, and high-quality standards are key.

What you will be doing

As our new Accounting Lead, you will have a dual role: you will take hands‑on ownership of our Accounts Receivable processes and, at the same time, lead and develop the Group Accounting team. You will be both a player and a coach – making sure the daily operation runs with high quality, while bringing the team along on the journey towards a more automated, data‑driven and analytical way of working.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning and operating Accounts Receivable, incl. booking of payments, clearing of debtor accounts, credit management, dunning and collections
• Identifying and driving process optimization and increased use of AI within Accounts Receivables
• Analyzing data and deviations, and acting on unusual patterns
• Customer and balance sheet reconciliations and month‑end and year‑end closing activities

Leading the team

• Leading, coaching and developing the team in everyday work, incl. clear feedback, delegation and prioritization
• Ensuring quality, deadlines and robust, well‑documented processes across the team’s deliverables
• Bringing the team along in the transition to SAP S/4HANA, automation and a more analytical way of working
• Building a collaborative team culture in line with the FOSS leadership principles

• 5+ years of experience from an accounting role, with demonstrated progression from transactional execution towards analysis and process ownership – primarily within Accounts Receivable
• Hands‑on experience with AR processes: credit management, payment application, dunning/collections, and customer/balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA
• Documented experience with process optimization within accounting/finance processes
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles, incl. the connection between P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, and the ability to quality‑assure the work of others
• A relevant educational background in finance, accounting or business economics – or equivalent practical experience
• Strong Excel capabilities and full working proficiency in English, both written and spoken
• An analytical controlling mindset and a structured approach – you question data, challenge unusual patterns, and take full ownership of your deliverables
• A proactive and change‑ready leadership style – you lead by example, bring colleagues along in change, and put the power of “we” before the strength of “me”
