Job summary

FOSS is transforming its Group Accounting function and seeks an Accountant to take ownership of Accounts Payable. Based at our headquarters in Hillerød, Denmark, you will drive robust, efficient processes, collaborate across finance and the wider organization, and help implement automation and data-driven improvements.

You will lead AP activities, including vendor invoicing, PO reconciliations, and payment processes, while contributing to month- and year-end close in a large production

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with progression from transactional execution towards analysis and process ownership—primarily Accounts Payable.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Documented experience with process optimization within accounting processes.

Do you want to take Accounts Payable from a transactional focus to insight and process ownership? As part of an ongoing transformation of our finance function – driven by the implementation of SAP S/4HANA and increased automation – we are strengthening our Group Accounting team and are now looking for an Accountant.

You will work from our headquarters in Hillerød, Denmark, and become part of a purpose-driven, international organization where professionalism, collaboration, and high-quality standards are key.

What you will be doing

As our new Accountant, you will take ownership of our Accounts Payable processes and play an active role in making them more robust, efficient and insight-driven. You will work closely with experienced colleagues in finance and collaborate across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

• Vendor invoicing and vendor management


• Vendor clearing and payment processes


• Handling of purchase orders (PO) and PO-related reconciliations


• Identifying and driving process optimization and increased use of AI within Account Payable


• Analyzing data and deviations, and acting on unusual patterns


• Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities

Our finance function is evolving alongside the roll-out of SAP S/4HANA and is currently working in SAP ECC. We are moving from a transactional focus towards analysis, process optimization and business partnering – and we need colleagues who understand data, work in a structured and analytical way.

We hope to see you bring:

• 5+ years of experience from an accounting role, with demonstrated progression from transactional execution towards analysis and process ownership – primarily within Accounts Payable


• Experience with SAP S/4HANA


• Documented experience with process optimization within accounting processes


• Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable processes: vendor management, vendor clearing, and vendor/balance sheet reconciliations


• Experience from a large production company, incl. handling purchase orders (PO) and PO-related reconciliations


• A relevant educational background in finance, accounting or business economics – or equivalent practical experience


• Strong Excel capabilities and full working proficiency in English, both written and spoken


• An analytical controlling mindset and a structured approach – you question data, challenge unusual patterns, and take full ownership of your deliverables


• A proactive and collaborative mindset – you embrace new ways of working and automation, and act as a sparring partner across the team
