Novanta Inc. is seeking a Working Student to join the System Verification team within our Advanced Surgery Business Unit in Berlin.

You will support test planning, execute verification activities, and document results for medical devices and tubing systems used in minimally invasive surgery. Ideal candidates are enrolled in an engineering program, have early testing/QA exposure, and possess basic knowledge of testing tools such as LabVIEW or C#.

Formación

• Enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience from university projects, internships or student work in testing/QA is a plus.
• Experience with testing tools, automation; C# or LabVIEW is ideal.
• Good English and German language skills.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and maintain test setups, equipment, and testing environments.
• Execute test cases according to defined protocols and document results.
• Identify, investigate, and report test deviations, defects, or inconsistencies.
• Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining verification documentation and reports.
• Participate in test planning, reviews, and team discussions.
• Support troubleshooting activities and contribute to problem-solving during testing.
• Help ensure that testing is performed using appropriate calibrated equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Learn and apply testing methodologies, processes, and quality standards.

This position is part of Novanta's Advanced Surgery Business Unit. As a Working Student in our System Verification Team, you will support the testing and verification of medical devices and tubing systems used in minimally invasive surgery. Working closely with experienced engineers and verification specialists, you will help execute test cases, document results, analyze findings, and contribute to ensuring the highest quality standards for our products. Your Responsibilities:

• Support the System Verification (SV) and NPI teams in planning and executing product verification activities
• Prepare and maintain test setups, equipment, and testing environments
• Execute test cases according to defined protocols and accurately document results
• Identify, investigate, and report test deviations, defects, or inconsistencies
• Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining verification documentation and reports

Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies:

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Engineering (e.g. Engineering, Medical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics)
• First experience gained through university projects, internship, or student work in testing, quality assurance, or engineering is beneficial
• Experience with testing tools, automation, C# or LabVIEW ideal
• Structured working style, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
• Interst in medical technology and product testing
• Basic knowledge of testing principles and quality assurance methods
• Good English and German language skills
