HÖRMANN Digital is at the forefront of digital transformation within the HÖRMANN Group, a family-owned German SME. Our mission is to accelerate the digitization of business models across the group, with a focus on AI solutions. We are launching an internal DSGVO-secure chat tool and an AI platform to empower users across the group.
Our Software Development Team is expanding into understanding user behavior and optimizing AI tools based on real-world usage. We are building user research capabilities, analytics dashboards, and data-driven feedback loops to ensure our AI solutions deliver value and improve continuously.
Role and Focus
As a Werksstudent (working student), you will be at the intersection of cutting-edge AI technology and user-centered design. You will contribute to understanding how our AI tools are used, what drives user satisfaction, and how to optimize products for impact. This role offers hands-on experience with the complete product lifecycle—from user research and data analysis to customer support and product improvement.
Responsibilities
- User Research & Analysis: Design and conduct user interviews, create and analyze surveys, and synthesize qualitative feedback into actionable insights.
- Dashboard Development: Build usage dashboards for our AI applications, tracking metrics such as user engagement, feature adoption, and satisfaction.
- Advanced Analytics: Perform sentiment analysis on user feedback and conduct ML-based analyses to identify usage patterns and improvement opportunities.
- Customer Support: Provide first-level support through the ticketing system (1h daily, Mon-Thu).
- Data-Driven Insights: Transform raw usage data into strategic recommendations for product development and UX optimization.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to implement research findings.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create clear, actionable reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
Your Profile
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Psychology, Business Analytics).
- Strong Python skills with data manipulation and visualization experience; willingness to learn PowerBI or Grafana.
- Analytical interest in both numbers and understanding people through interviews and surveys.
- Strong German communication (native or C1+) and good English for international collaboration.
- Eagerness to learn about AI technologies and how people use them in daily work.
- Service orientation and a positive attitude toward customer support activities.
- Problem-solving mindset and reliability to commit to daily support hours (1h Mon-Thu).
- Team player, open to feedback and mentoring.
Tech Stack & Tools
- Analytics & Visualization: Python (pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly); PowerBI or Grafana for dashboards
- Machine Learning: Scikit-learn, NLTK/spaCy for sentiment analysis; basic ML techniques
- Data Sources: Application usage data, customer feedback, surveys, support tickets
- Research Methods: Interview facilitation, survey design, qualitative data analysis
