Job summary

tesa is seeking a working student in Hamburg to support the Investment Controller and wider finance team. You will assist in preparing materials for the Investment Committee, track budgets, and help improve forecasting and reporting workflows.

The role emphasizes data handling, Excel-based analysis, and collaboration with international affiliates. A Master’s degree pursuit is expected, with flexible hours and a competitive monthly salary. Based at the tesa campus with opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Investment Committee preparations with financial data and project overviews.
• Monitor the Investment Plan and Forecast submissions and Actuals reporting; support improved planning and forecasting processes.
• Propose improvements to the current Investment process description and intranet documentation.
• Track budgets for investment projects and help prepare yearly payment/spending plans.
• Maintain records and archive approved investments; communicate with affiliates.

What you will do

• Support the preparation to the Investment Committee at tesa (financial data and project overviews: status, budget, scope)
• Steer and check of the Investment Plan and Forecast submission as well as Actuals reporting, e.g. data quality, communication with affiliates, preparation of respective presentations. Implement necessary changes in the reporting systems and processes for better planning and forecasting.
• Implement improvements to the current Investment process description (e.g. at tesa Intranet)
• Tracking of the budgets for some of the Investment projects; together with project stakeholders – organize a preparation of the yearly payment / spending plan.
• Keep records and archiving on approved investments, assure proper communication back to the affiliates.
• Support Senior Investment Controller on all activities and initiatives, related to the improvement of current Investment process: governance, files, standard presentations, etc.
• Support Senior Global Plants Controller on Intercompany Price related workflow in SAP system.

What you will need

• You are at the start of your Master’s degree and looking for an entry-level position - ideally starting in November and based in Hamburg.
• You have strong Excel skills and feel confident managing data, formulas, and structured spreadsheets.
• You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, allowing you to collaborate effortlessly in an international setup.
• You bring prior work experience, ideally gained through internships or working student roles in finance.
• You stand out if you have hands-on experience with AI agents or a strong interest in AI-driven tools and automation.
