Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space sucht einen Werkstudenten (d/m/w) im Bereich 5G- und LEO-Satellitenkommunikation zur Unterstützung des Navigationsteams in Taufkirchen/Ottobrunn. Start ab sofort, Dauer 12 Monate, ca. 18 Stunden pro Woche.

Zu den Aufgaben gehören Forschung zu Signalstrukturen, Pilot- und Datensignale, sowie die Entwicklung von Algorithmen in MATLAB, Python oder C++. Vorteilhaft sind SDR-Erfahrung und gute Deutsch/Englischkenntnisse.

Qualifications

• Fortgeschrittenes Studium in Elektrotechnik, Telekommunikation oder Navigation.
• Gutes Verständnis von Signalmodulation und Navigationsempfängern.
• Erfahrung mit SDR und Signalverarbeitung von Feldaufzeichnungen.
• Programmiersprachen Python/C++/Matlab für Echtzeitanwendungen.

Responsibilities

• Forschung zu 5G- und LEO-Satellitenkommunikations-Positionssignalstrukturen.
• Erfassung der Pilot-Signalkomponente und Daten-Demodulation.
• Entwicklung von Signalverarbeitungsalgorithmen in MATLAB/Python/C++.

Deine Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten

• Forschung zu 5G- und LEO-Satellitenkommunikations-Positionsignalstrukturen (Pilot- und Datensignalkomponenten, Multiplexing).
• Forschung zur Erfassung der Pilot-Signalkomponente und zur Daten-Demodulation.
• Entwicklung von Signalverarbeitungsalgorithmen mit MATLAB, Python oder C++.
• Durchführung von Laborexperimenten mit Software-Defined Radio (SDR) an Prototypen und bestehenden 5G- und LEO-Satellitenkommunikationssignalen.

Erforderliche Kenntnisse und Qualifikationen

• Eingeschriebene Vollzeitstudent (d/m/w) der Elektrotechnik, Telekommunikationstechnik, Navigation oder eines ähnlichen Studiengangs.
• Gutes Verständnis von Signalmodulation, Navigationsempfängern und starkes Interesse an Signalverarbeitung und/oder Navigation.
• Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Software-Defined Radio und Erfahrung in der Signalverarbeitung von Feldaufzeichnungen.
• Sichere Kenntnisse in Programmiersprachen zur Entwicklung von Algorithmen und Techniken (Python/C++/MATLAB) für Echtzeitoperationen.
• Fließende Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse.
• Gute Teamfähigkeit, exzellente Kommunikationsfähigkeiten und die Fähigkeit, selbstständig zu arbeiten.

Definition working student

Working students (d/f/m) are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies.

This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis.

This employment usually takes place directly on the company's premises.

A working student's main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week.

Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Research on 5G and LEO satellite communication positioning signal structures (pilot and data components, multiplexing).
• Research on acquisition of pilot signal component and on data demodulation.
• Development of signal processing algorithms using Matlab, Python or C++.
• Conduct laboratory experiments using software-defined radio (SDR) on prototype and existing 5G and LEO satellite communication signals.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Navigation or similar field of study.
• You have a solid understanding of signal modulation, navigation receivers and a strong interest in signal processing and/or navigation.
• You are familiar with software-defined radio and have experience with signal processing of field recordings.
• You are comfortable in programming languages for developing algorithms and techniques (Python/C++/Matlab) targeting real-time operations.
• You are fluent in English and German.
• You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
