Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space sucht einen Werkstudenten (d/m/w) im Bereich 5G- und LEO-Satellitenkommunikation. Standort ist Taufkirchen/Ottobrunn, Start ab sofort, Dauer 12 Monate, ca. 18 Stunden pro Woche.

Sie arbeiten an der Forschung zu Signalen, Pilot- und Datensignalen, entwickeln Algorithmen in MATLAB/Python/C++, und sammeln praktische Erfahrungen mit SDR in einem internationalen Umfeld.

Qualifications

• Eingeschriebene Vollzeitstudentin/Vollzeitstudent der Elektrotechnik, Telekommunikationstechnik, Navigation oder eines ähnlichen Studiengangs.
• Gutes Verständnis von Signalmodulation, Navigationsempfängern und Signalverarbeitung.
• Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Software-Defined Radio und Erfahrung in der Signalverarbeitung von Feldaufzeichnungen.
• Programmiersprachen Python/C++/MATLAB für Echtzeitoperationen beherrschen.
• Fließende Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse.
• Gute Teamfähigkeit und selbstständiges Arbeiten.

Responsibilities

• Forschung zu 5G- und LEO-Satellitenkommunikations-Positionssignalstrukturen.
• Erfassung der Pilot-Signalkomponente und Daten-Demodulation.
• Entwicklung von Signalverarbeitungsalgorithmen mit MATLAB, Python oder C++.

Deine Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten

• Forschung zu 5G- und LEO-Satellitenkommunikations-Positionsignalstrukturen (Pilot- und Datensignalkomponenten, Multiplexing).
• Forschung zur Erfassung der Pilot-Signalkomponente und zur Daten-Demodulation.
• Entwicklung von Signalverarbeitungsalgorithmen mit MATLAB, Python oder C++.
• Durchführung von Laborexperimenten mit Software-Defined Radio (SDR) an Prototypen und bestehenden 5G- und LEO-Satellitenkommunikationssignalen.

Erforderliche Kenntnisse und Qualifikationen

• Eingeschriebene Vollzeitstudent (d/m/w) der Elektrotechnik, Telekommunikationstechnik, Navigation oder eines ähnlichen Studiengangs.
• Gutes Verständnis von Signalmodulation, Navigationsempfängern und starkes Interesse an Signalverarbeitung und/oder Navigation.
• Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Software-Defined Radio und Erfahrung in der Signalverarbeitung von Feldaufzeichnungen.
• Sichere Kenntnisse in Programmiersprachen zur Entwicklung von Algorithmen und Techniken (Python/C++/MATLAB) für Echtzeitoperationen.
• Fließende Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse.
• Gute Teamfähigkeit, exzellente Kommunikationsfähigkeiten und die Fähigkeit, selbstständig zu arbeiten.

We look forward to you supporting us in the Airbus Navigation Team as a working student (d/f/m) with approx. 18 hours a week!

Definition working student

Working students (d/f/m) are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies. This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis. This employment usually takes place directly on the company's premises. A working student's main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week. Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Research on 5G and LEO satellite communication positioning signal structures (pilot and data components, multiplexing).
• Research on acquisition of pilot signal component and on data demodulation.
• Development of signal processing algorithms using Matlab, Python or C++.
• Conduct laboratory experiments using software-defined radio (SDR) on prototype and existing 5G and LEO satellite communication signals.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Navigation or similar field of study.
• You have a solid understanding of signal modulation, navigation receivers and a strong interest in signal processing and/or navigation.
• You are familiar with software-defined radio and have experience with signal processing of field recordings.
• You are comfortable in programming languages for developing algorithms and techniques (Python/C++/Matlab) targeting real-time operations.
• You are fluent in English and German.
• You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
