The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum invites applications for the position of a Professor W2 with Tenure-Track W3 (m/f/d) in Theoretical Electrical Engineering commencing as soon as possible. The holder of the position will represent the subject of Theoretical Electrical Engineering in research and teaching.
The future post holder is expected to be scientifically active in the main research areas:
Activities in the field of plasma research are bundled in the Research Department for Plasmas with Complex Interactions. In particular, it is essential that the planned research activities are integrated into the context of current and future Collaborative Research Centre applications and other possible coordinated programmes.
Teaching is to be provided in theoretical engineering, taught in German and English as part of the compulsory and elective courses of all programs offered by the faculty, and the future holder of this position is expected to actively participate in shaping selected study focuses of the faculty.
The position will be filled with a tenure track for the professorship to W3. If the evaluation is positive, the professorship will be in an appropriately simplified procedure without a new announcement. The specific criteria for the evaluation of the professorship can be accessed in the conditions governing tenure-track professorships (see internal reference).
Positive evaluation as a junior professor, habilitation or equivalent academic achievement and evidence of special aptitude are required, as is the willingness to participate in the self-governing bodies of Ruhr-Universität Bochum and to engage in university processes according to Ruhr-Universität Bochum’s mission statement. The candidate must meet the appointment requirements according to section 36 ff. Hochschulgesetz NW.
