Jobbeschreibung

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum invites applications for a Professor W2 with Tenure-Track W3 (m/f/d) in Theoretical Electrical Engineering commencing as soon as possible.

The holder will represent the subject of Theoretical Electrical Engineering in research and teaching.

• Design and application of modern analytical and numerical methods for the computation of electromagnetic fields and waves, including physics-informed Machine Learning
• Modelling and simulation of complex technical systems, with application potential in plasma research (technical plasmas, surface treatment with plasmas and lasers, model-based plasma diagnostics)

The position will be filled with a tenure track for the professorship to W3. If the evaluation is positive, the professorship will be in an appropriately simplified procedure without a new announcement. Requirements

Positive evaluation as a junior professor, habilitation or equivalent academic achievement and evidence of special aptitude are required, along with willingness to participate in the self-governing bodies and university processes.
