ZEREN seeks a VP of Engineering to own the engineering strategy for its second largest B2B SaaS unit, based in Germany or the Netherlands. You will report to the CEO and partner with the VP of Product to raise delivery quality and security.

You will lead an engineering organisation through a shift to AI-native, spec-driven development, define the tech foundation, and drive performance and reliability across the cluster. German and English fluency required.

A PE-backed B2B SaaS business, is looking for a VP of Engineering for its second largest business unit.

This isn't a Head of Engineering role with an AI label attached. It's full VP of Engineering ownership: architecture, security, delivery, and the shift to AI-native, agentic software development - not "we adopted Cursor last year."

You'll report to the CEO, sit as a peer to the VP of Product, and lead an engineering organisation moving from brownfield reality toward Spec-Driven Development.

What you'll own:

• Architecture, code quality, reliability, security and cost-to-run for the engineering organisation
• Delivery speed and the shift to AI agent-based delivery across the full software lifecycle: spec writing, coding, testing, review, deployment and observability
• The move to Spec-Driven Development, where the spec is the source of truth and evals are reviewed instead of code
• The engineering roadmap, technology foundation and operational excellence for the cluster, working alongside the VP of Product and CEO to set direction

Your background and Experience:

• 12+ years in software engineering, 5+ leading multi-team B2B SaaS organisations
• A proven, evidenced shift to AI-led delivery. Not a slide deck about intent
• People-first leadership. Change management which keeps engagement and retention high through real transformation
• Comfortable with 30-40% travel across the cluster footprint
• Business fluency in German and English
