Animationsinstitut at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg trains outstanding talents at the highest level in the fields of animation, visual effects, technical direction, animation/effects producing and interactive media. In addition, the institute runs a research & development department.

User Experience (UX) and XR Application Designer (m/f/d)

position within the research project “Reallabor Metaverse”, starting 01.01.2026 or later in full-time (39,5 hours per week), for a period of two years.

Your tasks

• UX evaluation of existing tools and workflows
• UX design and implementation on handheld, web and VR
• Evaluation in practical application scenarios with industry partners from VFX, advertisement and architecture
• General design, aesthetics and communication tasks (Logos, Flyer, Social Campaigns)

Your profile

• Intrinsic motivation, interest and deep understanding of technology and its creative potential
• Completed studies or working experience with several years of professional background in UX-design, implementation and evaluation
• Good knowledge in game engine technology (Unity, Unreal, etc.)
• Exceptional inter-personal skills, problem solving and development
• Secure handling in digital communication tools and structures such as wiki, email, project management tools, etc
• Organizational talent, resilient, versatile and flexible, ability to work in a team
• Good knowledge of English
• Valid work permit within the European Union
• You have a sense of social responsibility and are open and sensitive to sustainability, diversity and equal opportunities
