The activities for student assistants at Fraunhofer IZI are diverse and, depending on the area of assignment, range from scientific-experimental work in research projects to organizational support in laboratory operations. If a team is interested in your unsolicited application, the specific tasks and assignment options will be discussed individually during the further application process. Your tasks may include, among others:

• Contributing to scientific research activities and experimental work
• Supporting the preparation, execution, and documentation of laboratory experiments
• Organizing and supporting laboratory operations (e.g. preparation of materials and consumables for experiments, preparation of buffer solutions, ordering of materials, stock management, receipt of goods)
• Preparation and post-processing of laboratory areas, including cleaning and disinfection
• Supporting general administrative and organizational tasks within project environments

What you contribute

• You are enrolled as a student, preferably in natural sciences, engineering, medical sciences, or a related field of study.
• Ideally, you already have some initial experience in a scientific or laboratory environment through internships, holiday jobs, or working student positions; however, this is not mandatory. In any case, please include a short cover letter explaining your motivation for working as a student assistant at Fraunhofer IZI.
