The Position
The Professorship to be filled is based at the Institute of Algebraic Geometry within the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
We seek an internationally visible scholar with proven expertise in algebraic geometry. The future holder of the position is expected to develop an independent and innovative research programme that strengthens the international research profile of the Institute and the Faculty and complements the existing research areas.
The professorship will play an active role in the research activities of the Institute of Algebraic Geometry.
Successful acquisition of competitive third-party funding, for example through DFG, ERC, or comparable national and international funding programmes, as well as experience in supervising doctoral candidates and early-career researchers, is desirable.
The professorship will contribute to teaching in the degree programmes in mathematics and physics, including teacher training, as well as to teaching provided for other degree programmes. Research-oriented teaching is expected; in the future, this should also include teaching content on AI in mathematics.
