You will work on five project assignments across HR and Telekom Strategy Consulting, with options to choose further topics across the group. The program includes an international three-month assignment, a one-week onboarding event, a strong trainee community, mentoring, and Fridays for strategic growth topics.

Tasks

For talents with an entrepreneurial mindset and the courage to shape the future, the 18‑month “Start up!” Trainee Program provides an environment in which you can learn, grow, and develop. We offer you broad insights into our organization as well as opportunities to step outside your comfort zone, explore new topics, and reach your full potential. Take off and steer your own career! You will complete five project assignments: your first assignment will be within HR, followed by further assignments within Telekom Strategy Consulting. After that, you can individually select your remaining projects from across the entire Deutsche Telekom Group.

Step outside your comfort zone! After your first assignment, you decide which topics you would like to explore in greater depth. Throughout the program, we encourage you to leave your comfort zone and discover new areas within Deutsche Telekom. We will support you with access to a broad network. Expand your network and experience the trainee community! Fridays are reserved for “Magenta Friday.” All trainees come together to work on strategic and innovative growth topics outside their regular project assignments. Trainees work in different teams, organizing events, promoting their own development, or contributing to social initiatives.

Go international! A leading digital telecommunications company without international experience? Never! One of your three‑month assignments will take place abroad. You decide which country and city you would like to work in.

Understand our business! Take the opportunity to get to know Deutsche Telekom’s operational business. During our “Service Days,” you can gain first‑hand insights into how Deutsche Telekom interacts with its customers. Choose your own Service Days –for example, spend a day in customer service, visit a T‑Shop, or stop by one of our service centre. You will gain direct insight into how we turn customers into fans every day.

What additional role‑specific responsibilities can you expect in the “Inhouse Consulting” trainee position?

You will experience Telekom Strategy Consulting first‑hand, working in changing project teams of 3–6 consultants on strategic projects covering cross‑functional topics. You will also have the opportunity to develop expertise in specific areas. Together with your project team, you will develop solution concepts to support strategy implementation and help clients assess opportunities and risk while driving growth and competitiveness.

Profile

• You have successfully completed a master in a STEM field and/or a comparable discipline, such as Business Informatics, Engineering, Marketing, Business Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Relevant experience: You have gained at least six months of relevant internship or professional experience in strategy consulting and/or comparable strategic environments, such as in-house consulting, corporate strategy, or business development. Ideally, you have no more than approximately one year of relevant professional experience overall and are looking to purposefully develop your career through a trainee program.
• Understanding of corporate strategy: You have a fundamental understanding of how the development and implementation of strategies and innovative business models contribute to achieving corporate objectives.
• Intercultural competence: Our Start up! community thrives on its international character. Strong intercultural skills should therefore be part of your DNA.
• International experience –whether through studying abroad, work and travel, or similar activities –is essential (at least three months).
• Commitment and entrepreneurial spirit: As a Start up! trainee, you are passionate about driving change. Experience in social engagement and/or entrepreneurial projects is therefore highly welcome.
• Language skills: You are fluent in both English and German, written and spoken, at C1 level. Applicants with severe disabilities will be given preferential consideration if equally qualified.
