For our client, a well-established and publicly listed energy company, we are currently seeking a Trading Operations Analyst (m/f/d) to join their team in Düsseldorf.
Trading Operations Analyst (m/f/d)
- Annual gross salary between €55,000 and €65,000 depending on qualifications and professional experience
- Hybrid working model with the possibility to work from home up to 3 days per week
- Dedicated support and comprehensive preparation throughout the entire interview process
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute back-office processes for structured power contracts, including PPAs, BESS agreements, and ancillary market activities
- Calculate, validate, and process complex settlements and invoices while ensuring accurate and timely payment execution with counterparties, transmission system operators, and internal stakeholders
- Verify trade data, perform transaction validation, monitor data quality, and support the operational implementation of contractual agreements within relevant systems
- Analyze and resolve settlement-related inquiries, payment discrepancies, pricing or volume variances, and other operational exceptions
- Collaborate closely with Trading, Origination, Risk, Credit, Finance, Tax, Accounting, Legal, and IT teams to ensure efficient operational delivery and compliance with contractual obligations
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, controls, and performance tracking to support governance requirements, audits, and operational transparency
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to the standardization, optimization, and automation of operational workflows
- Support system enhancements, new product launches, and transformation initiatives through testing activities and end-to-end operational expertise
Your Profile:
- Proven experience in Trading Operations, Back Office, Commodity Operations, or a similar environment with a strong focus on settlements, invoicing, reconciliations, and issue resolution
- Sound understanding of the German and UK power markets and their operational processes
- Experience handling structured energy contracts, ideally including exposure to PPAs, BESS transactions, and ancillary services
- Ability to interpret commercial agreements and translate contractual requirements into practical operational processes and controls
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage complex data and high-value transactions under tight deadlines
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work closely with trading desks and cross-functional teams in an international setting
- Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken
- German language skills are considered an advantage
- Experience with SAP, Endur, Microsoft Office applications, reporting tools, automation solutions, or data analysis platforms is beneficial
