Job Title: Global Trade Compliance Specialist

Location: Remote / NRW, Germany / Netherlands

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join our international compliance team. This role is critical in ensuring our global operations adhere to all applicable import / export laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will work cross-functionally with legal, logistics, procurement, and commercial teams to support compliant trade practices across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and interpret global trade regulations, including export controls, sanctions, customs requirements, and classification standards.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade laws.
  • Manage product classification (HTS, ECCN) and maintain accurate trade data records.
  • Support internal audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions related to trade compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to internal stakeholders on trade compliance topics.
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies as needed.
  • Assist in license applications, export documentation, and screening processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of global trade compliance policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Law, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in trade compliance, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of global trade regulations and classification systems.
  • Experience with trade compliance software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP GTS, Amber Road).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent English and German Required.
