Job summary

Ricoh Europe is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join a cloud-based solutions team. You will influence quality engineering across products, contribute to AI-supported automation, and help shape future practices in a collaborative environment.

You will work in a cross-functional agile setting, developing automated tests with Playwright, JavaScript, and TypeScript, and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Ideally degree-level education in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Experience in test automation with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Proven experience with Playwright or similar modern frameworks.
• Experience or exposure to AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) is a plus.
• Understanding of agile software development practices and CI/CD environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; focus on quality through automation.
• Fluency in professional English (written and spoken).
• ISTQB CTFL certification desirable; CTAL is an advantage.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and approaches.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a cross-functional agile team to deliver high-quality cloud-based solutions.
• Analyze requirements and acceptance criteria to design automated test coverage.
• Specify automated test cases and review approaches with manual testers and QA professionals.
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Playwright, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Investigate test failures, identify root causes and improve reliability of automation assets.
• Perform peer reviews and contribute to engineering standards for automated testing.
• Enhance AI-supported test automation framework with fellow engineers.
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, efficiency, scalability and maintainability.
• Evaluate new automation techniques, tools and AI-assisted approaches.
• Collaborate with build/platform engineers to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute ideas to improve product quality and team effectiveness.
• Participate in retrospectives and continuous improvement activities.

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will join a team of experts delivering cutting-edge cloud-based solutions for our customers. • Collaborating within a cross-functional agile team to deliver high-quality cloud-based solutions.
• Analysing requirements and acceptance criteria to design effective automated test coverage.
• Specifying automated test cases and reviewing test approaches with manual testers and other quality engineering professionals.
• Developing and maintaining automated tests using Playwright, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

You will ideally have

• Ideally educated to at least degree level or equivalent professional qualification, with preference given to studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Previous experience within test automation including experience developing automated tests using JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Proven background and experience with Playwright or a comparable modern test automation framework.
• Any experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies would be a distinct advantage.
• Understanding of agile software development practices and CI/CD environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for improving quality through automation.
• Fluency to a professional English, both written and spoken is essential for this role, with any other language skills and advantage.
• ISTQB CTFL certification is desirable.
• ISTQB CTAL Test Automation Engineer certification would be an advantage.
• Natural ability to problem solve and explore new technologies.
