Job summary

LG Electronics VS is seeking a validation engineer to join our automotive software and hardware testing team in Eschborn. You will plan and execute tests, document results and work with suppliers to resolve issues.

The role requires 4+ years in validation, knowledge of CAN/Ethernet, and German and English communication. ISTQB foundation is a plus; a B-class driving license is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in validation engineering.
• Experience with automotive validation or testing recommended.
• Familiarity with CAN/Ethernet diagnostic data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test, trace, and document SW/HW validation results.
• Review validation results and drive issue resolution with suppliers.
• Clarify major issues and initiate follow-up actions.
• Handle test environments (SW updates, ECUs).
• Execute, evaluate and document ORU, field, and in-vehicle tests.
• Software flashing and maintenance of test benches with latest software.
• Set up online test benches and troubleshoot issues.
• Create tickets and drive them to resolution with bug verification.
• Support Test Managers in coordination of externals.

Your Tasks:

• testing, tracing SW/HW including appropriate documentation
• reviewing validation results and drive issue resolution internally and with suppliers
• clarification of major issues and initiating follow-up initiatives
• handling test environment issues (i.e. SW Update, broken ECUs)
• executing, evaluating and documenting of online remote update (ORU) tests, field test and in vehicle test
• software flashing of different ECUs and maintenance of test benches with latest S/W
• setting up online test bench and conduct troubleshooting of issues
• issue analysis, creation of tickets, and drive them till resolution with verification of bug fixes
• supporting of Test Managers in various tasks (i.e. coordination of externals)

Your Expertise:

• Academicals degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar
• 4+ years' experience in validation engineering
• ISTQB foundation level is a plus
• Basic knowledge of automotive communication (CAN, Ethernet)
• Familiar with diagnostic log and trace viewing program (e.g. DLTviewer or similar tools)
• Good German & English language skills (Spoken and Written)
• EU driver's license class B
