Overview
Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Aerospace Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). This is a W2 fixed-term (6 years) tenure-track professorship with the possibility for promotion to a tenured W3.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and teaching and promote the development of early-career scientists.
- Appoint an expert in the research area of Systems Engineering with a focus on developing innovative methodologies, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE), digital twins, AI applications, and agile development processes for satellites, aircraft, and next-generation air mobility systems.
- Teach courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs.
- Expand the existing teaching portfolio of the Department in Systems Engineering with courses on Systems Architecture, Verification & Validation, and Digital Engineering, integrating across Aeronautics and Space programs through project-based learning and industry collaboration.
Qualifications
- University degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude.
- Demonstrated initial scientific achievements with the capacity for independent research at the highest international level.
- Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
