Responsibilities
- Technical support of customers within long‑term service contracts in the field of process automation for industrial plants (e.g., steel plant applications / continuous casting systems).
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis, software error correction, execution of system upgrades and migrations, and preparation of documentation.
- Close cooperation with customers and internal departments to optimise automation processes.
- Act as an interface between service, development, and customers – direct customer support and development of sustainable solutions.
- Support software development teams with practical feedback and insights from operations.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering (e.g., computer science, automation engineering, electrical engineering) or a comparable qualification.
- Practical experience in process automation of industrial plants – pure software development background is not sufficient.
- Strong knowledge in software development with C#, C++, and WPF for user interfaces.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle DB, SQL) and data analysis.
- Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., GIT).
- Excellent English language skills (C1 or higher); German is a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally for customer projects.
