Technical Support Engineer - Applications

The Technical Support Engineer – Applications is a solution provider for customer applications. Working across industries with all composite manufacturing processes employing advanced materials from Airtech Group. This role identifies customer needs, providing technical expertise and support for product implementation and problem-solving. They are involved in various stages, from understanding customer requirements to ensuring successful provision of product solution and providing ongoing support. Provides technical support to customers on the broad range of Airtech products. Provide technical support to sales staff, quality, purchasing, and quotation departments as needed. Support new product development from inception to customer qualification. Emerging authority in one or more of Airtech’s technical areas of focus.

Key responsibilities
  • Understanding Customer Needs : Deeply understand customers’ technical requirements and translate them into solutions using the company’s products.
  • Product Expertise : Maintain a thorough understanding of Airtech’s products and their applications across various customer uses. Provide technical support to customers and distributors.
  • Technical Support : Provide remote and on-site support to customers, addressing issues and ensuring smooth product operation. Serve as a primary point of contact with customers. Communicate clearly at all levels, both verbally and in writing. Travel to customer and vendor facilities worldwide as required.
  • Presentations, Demonstrations, and Training : Prepare and deliver presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions as required. Train customers in the use of Airtech products, including hands‑on instruction.
  • Sales Support : Collaborate with sales teams, providing technical expertise during the sales process and assisting with presentations and demonstrations.
  • Problem‑Solving : Apply excellent troubleshooting skills to support vacuum bagging, tooling, and test part fabrication with thermoset, thermoplastic, and elastomeric products for composites, additive, and other industrial applications of Airtech materials.
  • Technical Documentation and Content Creation : Write and present papers, articles, datasheets, instructions, brochures, and create videos or other content as required to support company activities.
  • Product Testing : Plan and execute testing of new products to ensure their suitability for customer use.
  • Exhibition Support : Assist in preparing exhibitions with product demonstrations and related content.
Education and Skills
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience : Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the composite industry, with a background in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, or materials and processing.
  • Languages : Proficiency in English at a C1 level is required; proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
