Job summary

Instaffo GmbH in Dresden is seeking a Solution Engineer to bring NOVA to life in customer applications. You will work hands-on in projects, guide customers and partners, and ensure successful, independent use of our product.

You will design, implement and commission robotic solutions, support customers after go-live, run trainings, and contribute to documentation and product feedback. Travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in automation, robotics or application engineering, ideally in customer-facing projects.
• Hands-on experience with industrial robots and typical applications such as handling, palletizing or machine tending.
• Comfortable writing code, ideally in Python.
• Understanding of industrial networks and communication (TCP/IP, PROFINET/EtherNet/IP, OPC UA) and ability to connect a robot cell.
• Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites.
• Based in Dresden or willing to relocate/commute to spend about 2/3 of time at the Dresden shopfloor, especially during the first 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and commission robotic applications built on NOVA, from simulation to real cell.
• Serve as technical contact for customers after go-live, including support and further development.
• Run trainings, workshops and onboarding sessions for customers and partners.
• Translate field insights into product improvements with Product and Engineering and diagnose NOVA SDK/API issues.

Job description

As a Solution Engineer, you bring our software platform NOVA to life in real customer applications. You will work hands-on in projects delivered by our team and guide customers and partners in building their own solutions, ensuring they become successful and independent with our product.

Activities

Customer projects (Wandelbots-delivered)

• You are part of our project teams: you help design, implement and commission robotic applications built on NOVA, from simulation to the real cell.


• You know these projects inside out and become the technical point of contact for the customer after go-live, including support and further development.

Customer & partner projects

• You accompany projects that customers and integration partners implement themselves, as their technical sparring partner.


• You review solution architectures, help with tricky technical questions and unblock teams on site or remotely.

Enablement

• You run trainings, workshops and onboarding sessions for customers and partners.


• You build example applications, templates and best practices, and contribute to our documentation.

Product feedback

• You translate insights from the field into concrete product improvements together with Product and Engineering.


• You help to diagnose and resolve technical issues around NOVA, its SDKs and APIs.

Requirements

• Several years of experience as an automation, robotics or application engineer, ideally in customer-facing projects.


• Hands-on experience with industrial robots (e.g. KUKA, ABB, FANUC, Universal Robots, Yaskawa) and typical applications such as handling, palletizing or machine tending.


• Comfortable writing code, ideally in Python.


• Understanding of industrial networks and communication (TCP/IP, PROFINET/EtherNet/IP, OPC UA) and ability to connect a robot cell.


• Driving license and openness to regular travel to customer sites.


• Based in Dresden, or willing to move or commute to spend about 2/3 of your time at our Dresden shopfloor, especially during the first 6 months.

You will join our cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with Software, Product, and Robotics Engineering. You will work with over 100 colleagues in an environment that values knowledge sharing and autonomy.
