Job Overview
The Technical Solutions Engineer bridges the gap between customer requirements and technical solutions. This role supports the sales team by analyzing client needs, designing tailored technical solutions, and demonstrating how the company’s products and services address operational, financial, and regulatory challenges in the energy sector.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge, customer-facing communication skills, and commercial awareness to help win new business and expand existing accounts.
The role requires strong familiarity with enterprise asset management, asset analytics, and operational systems used in the electrical utilities sector, including EAM, APM, AIP, network modelling, outage management, and protection-related data environments.
Your Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to qualify opportunities and understand customer requirements
- Translate business needs into technical solution designs and architectures
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and workshops
- Respond to RFP’s, RFI’s, and technical questionnaires
Solution Design
- Develop tailored solution proposals aligned with customer infrastructure, processes, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with product management and engineering to validate feasibility and scope
- Provide technical input for pricing, implementation effort, and timelines
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to prospective clients and partners
- Lead discovery sessions to identify customer pain points and technical constraints
- Support proof-of-concept projects and pilot deployments
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with sales, delivery, and product teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to implementation
- Share market feedback and customer insights to support product improvements
- Maintain technical documentation, solution templates, and demonstration environments
Your Energy
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Energy Systems, or a related field
- 3–7 years of experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting
- Strong understanding of enterprise software, SaaS platforms, or energy/utility systems, TSO’s and DSO’s
- Experience presenting technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value
- Experience in energy management, utilities, or the infrastructure sector
- Familiarity with data integration, APIs, cloud platforms, or analytics tools
- Knowledge of regulatory or operational processes in energy markets
- Experience working in international or cross-cultural environments
