Zusammenfassung

Walt Disney Imagineering Germany is seeking a Technical Inspector m/f/d on a 4-year fixed-term contract until December 2030. The role covers inspecting shipboard technical installations and ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements across vessels.

You will join a team focused on delivering high-quality technical inspections, liaising with class societies, shipyards, and crew, while upholding Disney values and a strong safety culture.

Qualifikationen

  • Solid experience in shipbuilding or maritime engineering.
  • Bachelor degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with ship classification societies and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong knowledge of marine systems, propulsion, power plants, and piping.
  • Ability to review technical drawings and system descriptions.
  • Proficiency in inspection techniques, quality control, and commissioning procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication to prepare reports and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, international, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Aufgaben

  • Inspect technical installations to verify conformance with specifications and applicable rules, regulations and standards.
  • Technical installation of machinery systems and technical systems such as laundry, galleys, pantries, cabins, pools and Jacuzzis, waste systems.
  • Ensure the assessment of the shipyard drawings are completed in good time and valid comments passed to the shipyard teams using the shipyard's drawing approval system.
  • Attend any required Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and ensure these are carried out as per relevant requirements and standards.
  • Work with the Class Society and the shipyard to ensure that all present and foreseen regulatory legislation has been adhered to within the build process.
  • Coordinate and assist DCL crew who will take over the operation of the ship.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and open communication.
  • Promote a safety culture among team members and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Follow-up of defects and CRI and open remarks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the company’s Technical Superintendent.

WDI Germany provides technical, architectural, and design services for new-build cruise ships, specializing in managing and overseeing the design, construction, and outfitting processes in Germany and other parts of the world.

In this role, you will be responsible for Technical Inspections. This will cover all areas and systems within the vessels that require technical competence. You will ensure that shipboard technical installations meet the specifications and all applicable statutory and class requirements.

What You Will Do

Required Qualifications & Skills
