Responsibilities
- Provide overall technical leadership and strategic direction across all railway projects.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams (signaling, train control, software, hardware).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable quality, safety, and certification standards in the railway sector.
- Oversee technical contributions to bids, tenders, and customer projects.
- Manage technical planning, development, and integration of system solutions.
- Represent the company in technical committees, standardization bodies, and with authorities.
- Drive innovation strategies and continuous improvement in alignment with senior management.
- Monitor technical risks and manage changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support long-term workforce and competency development within engineering teams.
Technical Skills, Qualifications and Professional Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Signaling, Computer Science, or related technical discipline (PhD is a plus).
- At least 10 years of senior technical leadership experience, preferably in the railway industry.
- In-depth knowledge of interlocking and train control technologies, as well as relevant norms and safety standards (e.g., CENELEC, EN 5012x).
- Proven experience managing large engineering teams and international projects.
- Strong track record of working with customers, regulatory bodies, and certification authorities.
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with hands‑on leadership.
- Fluent in English and German (minimum C1); additional languages are an advantage.
