Technical Delivery Manager – Commerce Core (m/f/d)
Shopware is a leading open commerce platform for ambitious companies in digital commerce. With an API-first approach, maximum flexibility, and a strong community, we create future-oriented e-commerce solutions. Our 450 employees across Europe share a passion for innovation, openness, and team spirit. Our Commerce Core teams are the beating heart of Shopware: They build the features, frameworks, and APIs that power thousands of shops around the world. We’re now looking for a Technical Delivery Manager (m/f/d) to join this journey and help us keep delivery predictable, efficient, and joyful. You’ll work closely with Product, QA, and Developer Relations to transform complex ideas into reliable, high-quality releases that make a real difference for developers and merchants alike. If you love solving complex delivery challenges, thrive in cross-functional collaboration, and have a passion for release management, this role is for you. This position can be filled on-site, hybrid, or full-remote within Germany or specific European countries where we are registered. Your work location will be agreed upon in advance and forms the basis of your employment contract.
Responsibilities
- You take ownership of the operational delivery of the Commerce Core roadmap and ensure that releases are predictable, stable, and of high quality.
- You maintain a clear three-month execution roadmap that balances new features, maintenance, and technical debt.
- Together with Product Managers and Engineering Leads, you translate complex technical work into actionable plans.
- You coordinate both major and minor releases — from security updates and patches to QA readiness and release communication.
- Delivery metrics such as PR throughput, issue cycle time, and release health are continuously monitored, and potential risks are surfaced early to Engineering Leadership.
- You contribute to improving our processes by refining and automating GitHub workflows, including milestones, labels, and CI/CD pipelines.
- In backlog and bug review sessions, you help ensure that priorities are clear and focus remains on the most impactful work.
- You foster a culture of reliability, openness, and continuous improvement where feedback drives meaningful change.
Qualifications
- You have at least four years of professional experience in a technical role such as Software Engineer, QA Engineer, or DevOps Engineer.
- You bring experience in release management, release engineering, or CI/CD automation.
- Working with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and modern version control workflows is second nature to you.
- You know how to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders across engineering, QA, and product.
- Clear, empathetic, and proactive communication — especially in complex situations — is one of your key strengths.
- You work in a structured and organized way and have a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- You have excellent English skills and are comfortable using them daily (German is not required).
- Experience in open-source ecosystems, coordinating large-scale releases or product migrations, and a genuine commitment to inclusive teamwork and a respectful, empowering work culture complete your profile perfectly.
