Zusammenfassung

Enpal seeks a senior Technical Accountant to own complex accounting topics, partner with the Head of Technical Accounting and key Finance stakeholders, and develop sound accounting conclusions for IFRS and HGB matters. You will lead research, produce audit-ready analyses, and advise on business developments.

You will implement technical accounting conclusions across accounting and reporting processes, shape group policies, and stay ahead of IFRS/HGB changes.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with several years of senior-level experience in Technical Accounting, Accounting Advisory, Group Accounting or Audit.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and HGB and ability to apply standards to complex transactions.
• Proven track record of developing accounting conclusions and audit-ready papers and memos.
• Analytical mindset; ability to understand complex business models and translate into accounting substance.
• Ability to drive accounting conclusions through to implementation and work across Finance and business stakeholders.
• Excellent English communication; German language a plus for HGB topics and statutory audits.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• You take independent ownership of complex technical accounting topics and workstreams, partnering closely with the Head of Technical Accounting and senior Finance stakeholders.
• You assess new business models, products, transactions and contractual arrangements under IFRS and HGB and develop robust, well-supported accounting conclusions for complex and judgmental matters.
• You lead the research and assessment of complex accounting topics and prepare high-quality, audit-ready position papers, technical memos and supporting analyses.
• You act as a trusted accounting advisor to Finance and business stakeholders, translating complex business developments into clear accounting implications and practical solutions.
• You drive the implementation of technical accounting conclusions into accounting and reporting processes, working closely with GL Accounting, Group Accounting, ERP, Tax, Legal and other relevant functions.
• You shape and further develop Group accounting policies, guidelines and governance and ensure their consistent application across the organization.
• You monitor developments in IFRS and HGB, assess their impact on Enpal and lead or support the implementation of new accounting requirements.
• You provide technical expertise on complex areas such as revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, provisions, consolidation and business combinations, and represent Technical Accounting in discussions with external auditors and other stakeholders.
• You contribute to strengthening technical accounting expertise across the organization through knowledge sharing, training and guidance on complex accounting matters.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• You have a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a comparable field and several years of senior-level experience in Technical Accounting, Accounting Advisory, Group Accounting or Audit, ideally in a complex international organization.
• You have excellent knowledge of IFRS and HGB and strong practical experience applying accounting standards to complex and judgmental transactions.
• You have a proven track record of independently developing accounting conclusions and preparing high-quality technical accounting papers, assessments and audit documentation.
• You are highly analytical and can quickly understand complex business models, contracts and transactions and translate their economic substance into appropriate accounting treatment.
• You combine deep technical expertise with a pragmatic and implementation-oriented mindset and can drive accounting conclusions through to operational implementation.
• You are comfortable taking ownership of complex topics, challenging existing approaches and influencing stakeholders across Finance and the wider organization.
• You communicate complex accounting matters clearly and convincingly to both accounting specialists and senior non-accounting stakeholders.
• You communicate confidently in English; German is a strong advantage, particularly for HGB-related topics and statutory audits. A professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, Wirtschaftsprüfer or equivalent is a plus.
