Job summary

Barclay Simpson is supporting a global manufacturing organisation in the Trier region seeking a Head of IT/OT & Manufacturing Technology. The role combines local Plant IT leadership with shaping the organisation's global OT strategy and driving convergence of IT and OT.

You will lead the local IT function, oversee industrial networks, automation and Cyber Security, and collaborate with global CIO and CISO on OT governance, resilience and cross-site programmes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years across IT/OT, manufacturing technology or industrial environments.
• 5+ years of leadership / people management.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• Strong IT/OT engineering background with industrial networks experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the local IT function while shaping global OT strategy and governance.
• Drive IT/OT convergence, cyber security, Smart Factory and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Oversee MES, automation and digital manufacturing across international production sites.
• Collaborate with the Global CIO and Global CISO on OT resilience and cyber security.
• Provide senior leadership and guidance for manufacturing technology initiatives.

Job description

I'm currently supporting a global manufacturing organisation with the appointment of a Head of IT/OT & Manufacturing Technology, based in the Trier region.

This is a senior position combining local Plant IT leadership with responsibility for helping shape the organisation's global OT strategy.

You will lead the local IT function while driving initiatives across IT/OT convergence, industrial Cyber Security, Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, MES, automation and digital manufacturing across international production sites.

The position has significant senior-level visibility, reporting into the Global CIO with support and close collaboration from the Global CISO, particularly around OT Cyber Security and resilience.

They are looking for someone with:

• 10+ years across IT/OT, manufacturing technology or industrial environments
• 5+ years of leadership / people management
• A strong IT/OT engineering background
• Industrial networks, automation, infrastructure & Cyber Security
• OT strategy, governance and IT/OT integration
• International manufacturing experience
