Job summary

OHB System AG – We.Create.Space is seeking a Systems Engineer to drive requirements engineering and system design for space programs. You will migrate requirements data from IBM DOORS to Siemens Polarion, define complete, verifiable requirements, and coordinate architectures and interfaces with cost and schedule considerations.

Responsibilities include supporting design reviews, verification planning, and creating verification documents, as well as test specification preparation and testing

Qualifications

• Degree required (Master’s, Diploma or PhD) in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or comparable field.
• Experience with Siemens Polarion and IBM Rational DOORS, ideally with admin exposure.
• Expertise in at least one SE discipline (Mission Analysis, Spacecraft Operations, System Design, System Analysis, Interface Engineering, Requirements Engineering & Management, Verification & Validation, or Engineering Coordination).
• Strong analytical skills, technical judgment, and cost-focused mindset with holistic view of complex systems.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support migration of requirements data from IBM DOORS to Siemens Polarion.
• Analyze, define, derive, and maintain system and subsystem requirements for completeness and verifiability, considering cost and effort within Polarion.
• Coordinate system architectures and interfaces; evaluate and evolve design concepts with regard to requirements, risks, costs, schedules, and reuse.
• Manage development and design activities to ensure compliance with system requirements.
• Support System Design Reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR), verification planning, and creation of verification documentation (VCDs); lead VCBs with customers and suppliers.
• Prepare test specifications and define, execute, and evaluate verifications to demonstrate compliance with system requirements.
• Participate in Launch, LEOP, IOT activities; support change management, deviation processing, and approved design changes.

Systems Engineer Requirements Engineering (m/w/d)

Your Tasks

• Support for the migration of requirements data from IBM Rational DOORS to Siemens Polarion
• Responsibility for the analysis, definition, derivation, and maintenance of system and subsystem requirements, ensuring their completeness, consistency, and verifiability while considering cost and effort aspects within Siemens Polarion
• Coordination of system architectures and technical interfaces, as well as the evaluation and further development of design concepts with regard to requirements, risks, costs, schedules, and the reuse of existing solutions
• Management and oversight of development and design activities to ensure compliance with specified system requirements
• Support for System Design Reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR), verification planning, and the creation of verification documentation (VCDs), as well as the execution of Verification Control Boards (VCBs) with customers and suppliers
• Support in the preparation of test specifications and in the definition, execution, and evaluation of verification and testing activities to demonstrate compliance with system requirements
• Participation in the preparation and execution of Launch, LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase), and In-Orbit Test (IOT) activities, as well as support for change management, deviation processing, and the implementation of approved design changes

Your Qualifications

• Successfully completed degree (Master’s, Diploma, or PhD) in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a comparable field
• Several years of experience with Siemens Polarion and IBM Rational DOORS, ideally including experience in an administrative role
• Proven expertise in at least one Systems Engineering discipline, such as Mission Analysis, Spacecraft Operations, System Design, System Analysis, Interface Engineering, Requirements Engineering & Management, Verification & Validation, or Engineering Coordination
• Strong analytical skills, sound technical judgment, and a solution- and cost-oriented mindset combined with a holistic understanding of complex systems
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, flexibility in addressing technical challenges, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
