Job Description
The Central Europe Grid System Integration (GSI) team delivers high voltage transmission projects, including the connection of new generation & grid stability projects. We are looking for a Power Systems Engineer to lead the conceptual design of substations, define main electrical equipment parameters, and conduct electrical studies.

Projects Typically Include

  • New high voltage transmission substations
  • Expansion and reinforcement of existing substations and networks
  • On and Offshore substations for windfarm connections and renewable technologies
  • Network compensation and stability projects
  • Energy Storage Projects

In This Role

You will conduct electrical components integration and interfaces, develop solutions, and lead studies for optimized substation design.

  • Understand power system requirements, regulations, and standards
  • Engage with customers to articulate solutions
  • Collaborate with mechanical-electrical teams for practical and cost-effective design
  • Manage third-party resources for detailed studies
  • Understand substation design criteria such as earthing and arc pressure calculations

Requirements

MS Sc or Ph.D. in Power or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience). Experience with electrical studies on high voltage systems, including load flow, reactive power, harmonic management, and availability studies. Knowledge of power system analysis software like DIgSILENT PowerFactory is advantageous. German language skills are a plus.

Desired Characteristics

Strong understanding of power transmission, grid operation, and standards like the German Grid Code. Confident in discussing complex topics with clients and guiding teams from studies to practical design. Good communication, self-management, flexibility, resilience, and a learning attitude are essential.
