About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Structural Engineer to support the delivery of a high-profile urban tunneling project in the Bremen area. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and structural oversight of underground civil works, including tunnel segments, shafts, and station structures.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing to one of the largest underground infrastructure developments in Northern Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

• Structural analysis and design of underground structures including tunnel linings, retaining structures, and temporary works.
• Interpret geotechnical data and integrate findings into structural designs.
• Review contractor and consultant design submissions and perform quality checks.
• Liaise with design and construction teams to ensure buildability, safety, and compliance with relevant codes.
• Conduct structural site inspections and support resolution of on-site engineering issues.
• Prepare and review technical documentation including calculation reports, drawings, and risk assessments.
• Support coordination with clients, authorities, and third parties for approvals and design validation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BSc/MSc or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of professional experience, ideally with exposure to underground or tunneling projects.
• Strong understanding of Eurocodes, reinforced concrete design, and German DIN standards (DAUB knowledge is a plus).
• Proficiency in structural analysis tools (e.g. SOFiSTiK, Plaxis, MIDAS, or similar).
• Solid grasp of temporary works, construction staging, and structural detailing.
• Fluent in English; German language skills (B1 or higher) preferred.
• EU work eligibility or valid German work permit required.
