Job Description

Strategic Energy Market Analyst

Department: Energy Sales & Markets

Your Responsibilities

Do you want to actively shape the energy transition and have a keen sense of market mechanisms and economic interrelationships? Then you've come to the right place!

To strengthen the Energy Sales & Markets team, our client is looking for a Strategic Energy Market Analyst with a focus on the strategic alignment and market analysis of battery marketing, hydrogen purchase agreements, and power purchase agreements (e.g., HPAs or PPAs). In this role, you will play a key role in shaping how their contracts are positioned in a market‑compliant, economically attractive, and strategically optimal manner.

As part of their newly established Business & Market Intelligence team, you will play a central role in developing their route‑to‑market strategies. You analyse market conditions, identify opportunities and risks early on, and support their originators and structurers with in‑depth market insights.

What you can expect

• You will analyse market conditions, especially PPA offers, pricing structures, and contractual terms of competitors.
• You will develop and optimise their PPA marketing strategies and route‑to‑market approaches.
• You will support the positioning of their PPAs in the market with well‑founded strategic recommendations.
• You will continuously monitor the market to identify trends, opportunities, and risks at an early stage.
• You will work closely with the teams from financing and sales, project development, and other relevant departments to align their PPA and route‑to‑market structures with their corporate objectives.
• You will contribute to the development of pricing strategies and create economic analyses and valuation models.
• You will gather information on customer needs and market requirements to make their PPA and route‑to‑market structures even more attractive.

What you will bring with you

• At least 3 years of professional experience in the energy industry, ideally with a focus on flexibility marketing, PPAs, or hydrogen marketing.
• Excellent understanding of renewable energy markets, PPA structuring, and marketing strategies.
• Strong analytical and strategic skills as well as interdisciplinary working methods.
• In‑depth knowledge of energy contracts, revenue models, and market mechanisms in the electricity sector.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English – both written and oral.
