Zusammenfassung

Mynaric AG is seeking a Strategic Buyer to own sourcing for mechanical components, precision manufacturing, and passive optics. You will drive cost reduction, supplier development, and risk management across our critical supply chain.

In this role you will build category strategies, lead RFQs and negotiations, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to ensure on-time delivery and quality. Experience in aerospace or optics is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain, or business administration.
• Extensive strategic purchasing and category management experience.
• Proven sourcing of custom, drawing-based components.
• Experience with precision manufacturing, CNC, or optics.
• Strong cost breakdown, cost drivers, and cost-reduction capabilities.
• RFQ leadership, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Supplier qualification and development, production transfers.

Aufgaben

• Build and maintain category sourcing strategies for mechanical parts and optics.
• Analyze cost drivers and supply risks across supplier markets.
• Identify and develop suppliers in Germany, Eastern Europe, and key markets.
• Lead outsourcing or transfers of manufactured parts.
• Run RFQs, cost breakdowns, and commercial negotiations.
• Negotiate long-term agreements: pricing, capacity, terms.
• Lead supplier evaluation, selection, and qualification with Eng and QA.
• Develop alternative sources for critical, high-cost parts.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain category roadmaps and risk registers; support transfers.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Eng, Quality, Ops, Finance

What you bring with you

• Degree in engineering, industrial engineering, supply chain, business administration or similar
• Substantial experience in strategic purchasing, category management, or industrial sourcing, with a proven track record sourcing custom, drawing-based components
• Experience with precision manufacturing, CNC machining, or optics
• Solid grasp of manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and technical drawings, with strong cost breakdown analysis and cost-reduction capability
• Track record leading RFQs, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations, including contract management
• Experience with supplier qualification and development, industrialization, and production transfers
• Structured project management and stakeholder management skills
• Sound judgment balancing cost, quality, lead time, and risk with a data-driven approach, and able to work both proactive and independently
• Experience in aerospace, space, defense, automotive, semiconductor, or similar is a plus - international sourcing experience preferred
SAP or comparable ERP experience a plus
• fluent English skills, German skills a plus
