Job summary

Kubernauts GmbH is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to architect and evolve TK8, building robust server clusters, APIs and microservices in a hybrid cloud. You will join a team delivering scalable, high-availability systems with a strong focus on open-source cloud technologies and CI/CD excellence.

You will collaborate across engineering and operations, leveraging Docker, Kubernetes and IaC tooling to design, test and deploy resilient infrastructure for mission-critical workloads.

Qualifications

• 3+ years enterprise-level development experience.
• A 50-50 mix between software development and system administration.
• Proficiency in Go, Node.js, Python or Java.
• DevOps mindset with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Experience managing large-scale, traffic-heavy deployments.

Responsibilities

Your role and responsibilities:

• Architecture, implementation and maintenance of TK8 to build server clusters, APIs and microservices, including critical production environments in the hybrid cloud.
• Ensure the availability, performance and scalability of applications according to proven design and architecture best practices.
• Design and execute scalability strategies that ensure infrastructure scalability and elasticity.
• Manage software portfolios, their development life cycle and optimize CI/CD workflows.

Skills we are looking for:

• 3+ years experience developing at an enterprise level.
• A 50-50 mix between software development and system administration experience.
• Proficiency in Go, Node.js, Python or Java.
• Modern DevOps mindset using open source and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Hands-on experience administering high availability and high performance environments.
• Experience managing large-scale deployments of traffic-heavy applications.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and provider management services such as Amazon ECS/EKS, Google Container Engine or Azure Container Service.
• Strong ability to design and execute system testing strategies including smoke tests, performance/load tests, regression tests and capacity tests.
• Excellent understanding of scalability processes and techniques.

3+ years enterprise-level development experience, combined software development and system administration experience, proficiency in Go, Node.js, Python or Java, DevOps mindset, Infrastructure as Code experience with tools such as Terraform and Ansible, hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience.
