eBay is expanding its Engineering hub in Germany and seeks a Sr. Back-end Engineer for the Global Shipping team in the Dreilinden area near Berlin.

You’ll lead Java/Spring Boot web app development, shape the technical roadmap, and guide the team on all technical aspects. You will collaborate with a broader engineering group to deliver scalable, secure software for millions of users, with a focus on shipping products and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifikationen

• 9+ years of experience designing and developing highly scalable web applications.
• Proven experience building scalable backend systems with Java / Spring Boot.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and implementing microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in working with relational databases and/or NoSQL databases.
• Basic understanding of modern UX frameworks like React.js.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines and Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Having work experience with Kotlin and Prometheus Query Language is a plus.
• eBay requires employees to be present in the Dreilinden office three days per week.

About The Team And The Role

We are in the process of expanding our engineering hub in Germany. Several new engineering positions are being opened within Shipping Domain in our Dreilinden office located in the greater Berlin area. We are looking for a Sr. Back-end Engineer who will be part of the Global Shipping team and who can help us build exciting products at eBay.

You will be working on new experiences for millions of customers. You will lead the development of modern Java/Spring Boot based web applications by developing system designs, helping define the technical roadmap, guiding the team on all technical aspects, and implementing code. You will report to a Sr. Manager of engineering, as well as work closely with the wider engineering team of the new engineering hub.
