Job summary

Amazon Support Services Germany GmbH - I46 is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst in Leipzig to lead payroll operations across multiple countries, shaping controls and processes for accuracy and compliance.

You will drive technical payroll initiatives, mentor colleagues, and partner with HR and finance to support global initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Fluent EN/DE and advanced Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Payroll/HR experience and a track record of process improvements.
• Fluent in English and German with strong communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Serve as subject matter expert for payroll operations across assigned countries
• Lead payroll components in M&A and expansion projects
• Design and implement robust control frameworks
• Maintain compliance with local regulations
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge bases

Process Excellence

• Drive end-to-end payroll improvement initiatives
• Lead root cause analysis for complex payroll issues
• Implement and optimize payroll processes
• Support decision-making through formulating and executing financial analysis
• Monitor and enhance operational effectiveness

Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders
• Provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams
• Lead process improvement consultations
• Drive collaborative solutions across departments

Mentoring

• Mentor team members

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in process improvement
• Experience conducting sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations
• Experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement
• 3+ years Payroll/HR experience
• Fluency in English and German
• Advanced user of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated stakeholder management skills
• Excellent customer service orientation
• Deep controllership / statutory compliance knowledge (tax, labour code, social security, garnishments, pension, benefits, terminations)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing projects
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• 5+ years of experience in European or Middle East country payroll operations
