Job summary
Schmersal group in Wuppertal is seeking a procurement specialist to source technical materials, components and services for our projects. You will clarify requirements, select suppliers, obtain quotations, negotiate terms, and monitor delivery schedules to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
You will maintain supplier data in our ERP (SAP S/4HANA) and collaborate with project teams, sales and finance to establish robust procurement processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Completed commercial or technical education, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of purchasing experience, ideally within the industrial automation market.
- Proven expertise in operational procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experienced in working with ERP systems.
- Structured, self-driven, and highly hands-on working style.
- Enjoy building processes while actively contributing to day-to-day operations.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills; experience with international logistics and SAP S/4HANA is considered an advantage.
