We’re expanding our Financial Services Solution Architecture practice and are looking for AI-focused Solution Architects (m/f/d) to join our team in Frankfurt and surrounding areas, Germany, in a hybrid working mode. You will report directly to our Director of Solution Architecture for Financial Services and work as a close, active partner across enterprise-scale FS transformation programs — spanning complex technology transformation and modernization, payments infrastructure, capital markets platforms and regulatory compliance architecture. The role centers on hands-on Gen-AI and agentic solution design, paired with a shift-left mindset: rather than simply handing over AI-generated outputs, you’ll actively share the underlying skills and methods with colleagues so capability spreads across the team. This is a launchpad role — a high-growth position with direct exposure to client engagements, architecture reviews and executive conversations — where you’ll build the track record and judgment to grow into a senior architect with future leadership responsibility, while building deep Financial Services and applied Gen-AI architecture expertise.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver solution architectures for FS engagements across core banking, payments, capital markets or insurance, working closely with the Director of Solution Architecture
- Champion a shift-left approach to AI: actively share Gen-AI and agentic skills, reusable patterns and hands-on know-how with colleagues and mentor junior architects, building capability across the team rather than only handing over finished outputs
- Architect and build Gen-AI and agentic solutions (LLM integration patterns, RAG, vector store design, agent orchestration) for FS use cases such as fraud detection, credit risk and regulatory reporting
- Translate business and regulatory requirements (DORA, PSD2/3, MiFID II, Basel IV, GDPR) into concrete technical designs, in partnership with the Director and delivery leadership
- Support architecture governance and documentation across program phases, including cloud, outsourcing and third-party technology risk considerations aligned to BaFin/ECB expectations
- Partner with client stakeholders and delivery teams to validate designs, work through technical trade-offs and support proposal and pre‑sales activity
- Work in close partnership with the Director on client workshops, architecture councils and executive presentations — contributing directly, helping shape process and methodology, and building toward independent ownership of engagements
- Evaluate emerging AI and cloud technologies for technical fit, regulatory compliance and business value in FS contexts, and feed recommendations back into the practice
Requirements
- 6–10 years of overall IT experience, including 3+ years in solution or technical architecture roles.
- Hands‑on experience in at least one financial services domain — retail banking, capital markets, payments (ISO 20022, SWIFT) or insurance.
- Practical experience building Gen‑AI solutions (LLM integration patterns, RAG, agentic orchestration, vector store design), gained within regulated or corporate environments, with an understanding of the governance, data‑handling and model‑risk constraints that differ from purely experimental or greenfield AI work.
- Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) and associated integration patterns.
- Exposure to FS regulatory and compliance frameworks (DORA, PSD2/3, MiFID II, Basel IV, GDPR).
- Strong communication skills and comfort engaging with senior stakeholders; genuinely coachable and motivated to grow into a leadership track.
- Fluency in English and German.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with FS architecture frameworks and standards (TOGAF, Zachman, BIAN semantic APIs).
- Familiarity with AI governance and model risk management practices in regulated environments.
- Experience with digital banking platforms such as Temenos, Finastra, Mambu or FIS.
- Exposure to FS data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) or Open Banking API ecosystems (PSD2/3, Berlin Group).
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure or GCP) or TOGAF certification.
- Prior experience in a consulting or client‑facing delivery environment.
