Clera on-site in Berlin, Germany is seeking an engineering generalist to own core parts of the Flutter mobile app and contribute to agentic AI infrastructure. You’ll work with a team of 25+ engineers and impact millions of students worldwide.
Strong design sense and solid CS foundation are essential, plus fluency in English and a passion for building reliable, scalable systems. The role emphasizes shipping features, improving CI/CD, and integrating advanced tooling for everyday engineering
This is a foundational engineering role on the platform team at a Series B EdTech company, working on the Flutter mobile app, agentic and AI infrastructure, and developer experience tooling. Your work multiplies across a team of 25+ engineers and ships to millions of students worldwide. If you care as much about how things are built as what gets built, this role is for you.
Own core parts of the Flutter mobile app, including shared components, the design system, state management, performance, and tooling.
Build and maintain agentic and AI infrastructure - including MCP servers, a background agent platform, and evals and feedback loops.
Help integrate agentic coding tooling into day-to-day engineering workflows across the team.
Improve developer experience through CI/CD pipelines, release tooling, and faster code-to-production feedback loops.
Ship user-facing product features alongside platform and infrastructure work.
Keep the existing foundation reliable so engineers across the organisation can build on it with confidence.
2-4 years of production experience building mobile (Flutter/Dart) or web applications - deep platform-engineering tenure is not required.
Daily, fluent use of agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, or similar), with a genuine point of view on where they work well and where they fall short.
Strong academic background in computer science or a related field from a well-regarded university.
An eye for design - you notice inconsistent spacing, an animation that feels slightly off, or a component that's close but not quite right.
Clear written and spoken communication in English.
A genuine preference for improving systems that slow other people down, even when your name won't appear on a shipped feature.
Experience with Go services or backend development is a plus.
Salary range: €80,000 - €110,000 per year. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
