Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer for Rail IoT Devices to develop software foundations for interior and exterior display systems delivering real-time information to travelers in mission-critical rail environments.

Responsibilities include hands-on work with Linux-based embedded systems, optimization for rail-grade devices, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure robust end-to-end solutions. AI-assisted tooling will be used to boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
• Strong technical curiosity and passion for understanding complex systems.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Solid experience with Linux-based systems and embedded software/configuration.
• Strong C++ skills and a solid understanding of software fundamentals.
• Interest in software-hardware interaction and system integration.
• Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new technologies and domains.
• Strong communication skills and team orientation.

Profile Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field (electrotechnical background is a plus).

• Solid experience with Linux‑based systems, software configuration, or solution architecture in embedded environments.
