Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time Software Engineer opportunity available based in Vaihingen, Germany.

Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance and meet TESA accreditation requirements.

TESA Certification allows employees to be tax exempt for both Germany and US, in addition to other perks. Employees may be eligible for relocation reimbursement, housing allowance, COLA and school reimbursement for dependents.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting Combatant Command (CCMD) developed Strategic Information Systems.

Provide duties include accessing and updating databases, user account management, and applying specialized technical expertise to perform analysis, testing, and maintenance of systems and products.

Provide expertise relative to user requirements and develop technical reports and system documentation in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and provide training as requested.

Build and generate custom reports as requested, including reports required by DoD policy or National Defense Authority legislation, and synchronize various databases several times a week.

Knowledge of Security Cooperation is preferred.

Must demonstrate keen attention to detail, strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Other duties as assigned.

This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US AFRICOM located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany. The Software Developer works as part of a software engineering team to develop software packages and applications using an Agile methodology, embodying high levels of engineering and UI/UX principles.

Supports and develops client-side and/or server-side applications in the latest industry standard development environments, tests code for accuracy in pre-production, and ensures interoperability and completeness to achieve desired results within the production environment.

Works with peer engineers and the Team Lead to deliver value to our customer, sponsor, and stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and refine applications to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Integrate both client controls and .NET web service implementations as part of the Theater Security Cooperation architecture.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment to develop custom standalone ASP.NET applications and customizations.
  • Identify, isolate, diagnose, repair, and resolve software bugs.
  • Provide feedback for regular internal process improvement and best-practice reviews.
Qualifications

Required:

  • BA/BS + 3 years of recent specialized experience, or AA/AS + 5 years, or a major cert + 7 years, or 9 years of recent specialized experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 compliance; TESA eligibility.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in an Applications Development role.
  • IAT Level II certification(s) per DoD 8570.1; Microsoft Certification in Application Development or equivalent.
  • Experience with standard software development lifecycle processes, including peer reviews, QA testing, and security hardening.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills; able to work in an open work environment.
  • Strong understanding of web technologies: HTTP, REST, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, XML; and advanced web development: .NET Framework, Angular, React, TypeScript, C#, SCSS, SQL/NoSQL, Web Services (REST/SOAP); version control (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Agile (SCRUM) environments and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience in Combatant Commands or military environments; cross-functional teams; knowledge of adaptive design, responsive design, and progressive enhancement.
  • Travel readiness up to 10% and ability for occasional overnight travel.
  • Active passport for OCONUS travel and/or living requirements.
Travel and Work Environment

Travel up to 10%; overnight travel may be required. Office setting: sedentary work at a desk; may travel between offices/buildings on site. OCONUS travel and vaccination requirements may apply per location.
