Job summary

Schotstek GmbH in Jena is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop modern C#/.NET applications for laboratory and industrial devices. You will shape software architecture, implement robust components, and collaborate with hardware/embedded teams to ensure cohesive system design.

The role requires 5+ years in software development, strong unit testing, and fluent German with excellent English technical writing for documentation. Flexible working hours and a company pension are offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of C# and the .NET framework and experience developing software for device platforms.
• Strong unit testing and quality‑oriented software development practices.
• German (business fluent) and English for technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop modern application software for laboratory and analytical devices.
• Shape software design using microservice architectures and established design patterns.
• Work on user‑facing software including architecture, specification, data modeling, and implementation.
• Translate requirements into robust software components in C# / .NET.
• Create clear, structured software, firmware, and release documentation.
• Integrate sensors and actuators via interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with hardware and embedded teams to align system architecture.

Your profile

• Excellent knowledge of C# and the .NET framework, as well as experience developing software for proprietary device platforms.
• Solid experience with unit tests and quality‑oriented software development.
• Business‑fluent German skills and very good written English skills for technical documentation.
• Depending on the level:
• At least 5 years of professional experience in software development
• Nice to have: experience with Yocto, Embedded C, and Linux in embedded environments
