Job summary

Digital Realty in Düsseldorf seeks a Site Engineer (f/m/d) to maintain and operate mission-critical data center infrastructure in a three-shift system. You will perform maintenance, respond to incidents, coordinate external service providers and ensure uptime in line with SLAs and safety standards.

The role requires electrical engineering vocational training, 1,000 V switching authorization, 3+ years electrotechnical experience, and German/English at B2 level. Driving licence is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering
  • Electrical switching authorization up to 1,000 volts
  • At least three years of relevant experience in an electrotechnical environment
  • Experience operating, maintaining and troubleshooting electrotechnical systems
  • German language skills at a minimum B2 level and English at a minimum B2 level
  • Willingness to work in a three-shift system
  • Category B driving licence could be advantageous

YOUR ROLE

As a Site Engineer (f/m/d) in Düsseldorf, you will work as part of a three-shift system to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our mission-critical infrastructure. You will perform maintenance and repair activities, conduct routine inspections, respond to technical incidents and coordinate external service providers. You will help keep the data center running smoothly and ensure uninterrupted service delivery in line with SLAs, operational procedures and safety standards.

What You Will Do
  • Monitor and inspect critical data center infrastructure and associated equipment
  • Perform planned maintenance and corrective repair activities
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and act as a first-line responder to incidents
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and external service providers
  • Support equipment and system switching procedures
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, operational procedures and regulatory standards
  • Document technical work, maintenance activities and incidents

What You Will Need
  • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering, such as electronics technician for energy and building technology, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Electrical switching authorization up to 1,000 volts
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in an electrotechnical environment
  • Experience in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting electrotechnical systems
  • German language skills at a minimum B2 level and English at a minimum B2 level
  • Willingness to work in a three-shift system
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a hands-on mentality and a proactive, well-organized working style
  • A category B driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous
