Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals seeks an Electrical Site Engineer to support the M Renewables Division in Bavaria, Germany. You will supervise electrical installation works on site for BESS and grid-connection projects, ensuring safety, QA/QC and adherence to specifications.

You will review drawings, coordinate with civil teams, assist testing and commissioning, and maintain traceable documentation while promoting a strong safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical site engineering within construction, power infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
• Proven experience supervising subcontractors and delivering electrical works on site.
• Strong understanding of LV/MV systems, grid connections and renewable energy infrastructure.
• Experience with electrical inspection, testing, commissioning and QA/QC processes.
• Knowledge of German DIN/VDE standards and grid-connection requirements, or ability to work within these frameworks.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach with commitment to quality, safety and delivery excellence.
• Professional German-language proficiency at B2–C1 level.
• Willingness to work on site in Bavaria five days per week, with Saturday work when required by project needs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical subcontractors during installation of LV/MV systems, including cabling, panels, switchgear, transformers and inverters.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with approved designs and specifications, including cable routing, terminations, earthing and bonding.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, cable schedules and technical documentation.
• Coordinate electrical works with civil and other engineering teams for efficient site execution.
• Support inspection, testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance and continuity testing.
• Monitor site progress and subcontractor performance, identifying technical issues, risks and delays.
• Maintain accurate quality, inspection and testing documentation for traceability.
• Support pre-commissioning, energisation, grid-connection activities and final project handover.
• Ensure works comply with German electrical standards, project specs and safe systems of work.
• Promote safety culture and compliance with HSE requirements.

METLEN Energy & Metals is seeking an Electrical Site Engineer to support our M Renewables Division in Bavaria, Germany. This is an exciting opportunity to work on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and major grid-connection projects, contributing to the delivery of critical renewable energy infrastructure.

You will support the Project and Construction Teams in the supervision and execution of electrical installation works on site, ensuring safe delivery, quality assurance and compliance with engineering specifications, programme milestones and applicable German standards.

Your Role Will Encompass:

Supervise electrical subcontractors during the installation of low- and medium-voltage (LV/MV) systems, including cabling, panels, switchgear, transformers and inverters, where applicable.

Ensure electrical installations comply with approved designs and specifications, including cable routing, terminations, earthing and bonding.

Review and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules and technical documentation.

Coordinate electrical works with civil and other engineering teams to ensure efficient site execution.

Support inspection, testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance and continuity testing where applicable.

Monitor site progress and subcontractor performance, proactively identifying technical issues, risks and delays.

What We're Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.

At least 3 years of experience in electrical site engineering within construction, power infrastructure or renewable energy projects.

Proven experience supervising subcontractors and delivering electrical works on site.

Strong understanding of LV/MV systems, grid connections and renewable energy infrastructure.

Experience with electrical inspection, testing, commissioning and QA/QC processes.
