Job Description

In order to support our Communications & Sustainability department, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Site Communications Business Partner (d / f / m).

Our Airbus site in Bremen is a central centre of excellence for the future of Space & Defence. It houses the Space Exploration programme unit and the flagship Orion-ESM (European Service Module) programme that will propel the first woman and the first person of colour to the Moon. Bremen also plays a significant role in the Defence sector, contributing substantially to security and military programmes. The position’s responsibility also includes the Wunstorf site, where the new Maintenance Centre for the A400M military transport aircraft is operated in close cooperation with the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The function is constantly evolving to set new standards in corporate communication, translating the company strategy, nurturing partnerships and building a strong brand reputation worldwide.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Design, align and deliver the local communications plan for our Defence and Space activities in the Bremen site
  • Lead the local execution of Airbus‑wide and divisional communication plans
  • Drive efficient collaboration with and provide site‑specific knowledge to the wider communications organisation
  • Represent Airbus Defence and Space and Communications in local internal/external committees
  • Act as project lead to ensure on‑brief execution of projects or actions with other areas in the Communications Team
  • Collaborate with the Events & Exhibitions team for the planning and execution of local events
  • Plan and execute communication activities around local sponsorships, donations and partnership projects
  • Monitor and evaluate news and media coverage on site level
  • Act as spokesperson for all local topics towards external media
  • Manage crisis communications for Defence and Space in our Bremen site
Desired skills and qualifications
  • Completed university degree in Communication Sciences or related field of studies, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in different communication fields (Employee Communication, Branding, Media Relations, Editorial, Digital Media or Communication Strategy & Planning)
  • Understanding of media and how to effectively manage topics in the media
  • Storytelling and editorial skills
  • Ability to understand complex topics
  • Autonomous, creative & can‑do attitude
  • Ability to work in a very dynamic and fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to convince and connect easily to different internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluent level of German and English (speaking and writing)
