PPI Quality & Engineering in Germany is expanding its Quality Control team and is seeking experienced Pipe Mill Inspectors to support a major Pipe Mill project in Kreuztal-Kredenbach. The assignment covers approximately 6 months with an end-of-October start, requiring up to 6 inspectors across shifts to provide continuous inspection throughout the manufacturing process.

Candidates must have API 5L experience, be able to work with welding and UT/X-ray, and operate to project specifications and QA

Qualifikationen

• Experience with plate preparation, forming and pipe manufacturing

• Experience performing dimensional inspection and product release
• Strong QA knowledge and ability to report deviations

Job Summary

PPI Quality & Engineering is a global provider of quality assurance and inspection services supporting the energy industry. We are expanding our Quality Control team and are looking for experienced Pipe Mill Inspectors to support a major Pipe Mill project in Kreuztal-Kredenbach, Germany.A total of 6 Inspectors will be required, with 3 Inspectors per shift, providing continuous inspection coverage across the Pipe Mill manufacturing process.The position is part of a project currently planned for approximately 6 months, with the initial assignment planned for the end of October.

About the role

IMPORTANT: Candidates living locally or in the surrounding area of Kreuztal-Kredenbach, Germany, will be given priority.

A valid European Union work visa / authorization to work in the EU is mandatory for this position.

As a Pipe Mill Inspector, you will provide quality inspection coverage throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring that production and inspection activities are performed in accordance with API 5L, project specifications, applicable industry standards, and PPI Quality & Engineering procedures .

You will work closely with production teams, other inspectors and project stakeholders to monitor manufacturing activities, perform and witness inspections and testing, identify deviations and ensure that finished products meet the required quality standards prior to release.

Key Responsibilities

• Plate receipt, storage and cleaning
• Port loadout activities
• Edge milling, crimping and JCO forming
• Tack welding and inside/outside welding
• Inspection and testing activities, including UT and X-Ray
• Dimensional inspection of finished products
• Verification of manufacturing and inspection results against applicable specifications
• Product inspection and release
• Identification and reporting of quality deviations and non-conformities
• Completion and review of inspection reports and quality documentation
• Communication of inspection findings and quality issues to the Lead Inspector and relevant project stakeholders
• Promotion of safe working practices and a strong culture of quality, accountability and operational excellence

Do you have what it takes?

This position is ideal for an experienced Pipe Mill / QC Inspector with strong hands‑on experience in pipe manufacturing and inspection activities.

The ideal candidate must have :

• Proven practical experience with API 5L – MANDATORY
• Proven experience as a Pipe Mill Inspector / QC Inspector in a Pipe Mill or similar manufacturing environment
• Experience with plate preparation, forming and pipe manufacturing processes
• Experience with welding inspection , including tack, inside and outside welding
• Experience with UT and X-Ray inspection / NDT activities
• Experience performing dimensional inspection and product release
• Strong understanding of quality assurance, inspection and testing requirements
• Ability to identify deviations and non‑conformities and communicate them effectively
• Strong reporting, documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a production environment
• Strong attention to detail, accountability and commitment to operational excellence
• Flexibility and willingness to work on a shift basis

API 5L experience is a mandatory requirement for this position. Candidates without proven API 5L experience will not be considered.
