Job summary

Kiwa PPI in Germany is building a Talent Pool of experienced Pipe Mill Inspectors for upcoming project assignments at major Pipe Mills in Kreutzal Kredenbach, Germany. Inspectors provide quality leadership, ensure adherence to API 5L, and support fabrication and coating processes with rigorous inspection and documentation.

You will work with Floor Inspectors, production teams, and stakeholders to review data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

• Experience as Lead Inspector / Senior QC Inspector in a Pipe Mill environment.
• Hands-on API 5L expertise.
• Strong QA/QC knowledge and data review.
• EU work authorization is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Drive Process QA across all Pipe Mill operations.
• Manage and review inspection reports, quality documentation, and production paperwork.
• Review and analyze quality data to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Deliver technical support and root-cause problem solving for quality-related issues.
• Provide ongoing guidance and coverage for Floor Inspectors and project teams.
• Monitor ongoing inspection activities to maintain standard quality execution.
• Oversee Coating Mill operations to ensure compliance with project specs.
• Present quality performance and data trends to project coordinators and stakeholders.

As we continue to expand our Quality Control team for major energy projects, we are actively building a Talent Pool of experienced Pipe Mill Inspectors for upcoming project assignments supporting major Pipe Mills in Kreutzal Kredenbach, Germany

About the role

Role Overview

As Inspector, you will provide quality leadership and oversight across the pipe manufacturing process. You will ensure that inspection activities, quality documentation, data analysis, and production processes strictly adhere to API 5L, project specifications, applicable industry standards, and company procedures.

Working closely with Floor Inspectors, production teams, and project stakeholders, you will deliver technical guidance, review quality data, identify operational trends, and support continuous improvement and effective troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Process QA: Drive Process Quality Assurance across all Pipe Mill operations.

• Documentation & Reporting: Manage and review inspection reports, quality documentation, and production paperwork.

• Data & Trend Analysis: Review and analyze quality data to proactively identify issues and continuous improvement opportunities.

• Technical Troubleshooting: Deliver technical support and root-cause problem solving for quality-related issues.

• Team Guidance & Coverage: Provide ongoing guidance, task coordination, and coverage support for Floor Inspectors.

• Quality Consistency: Monitor ongoing inspection activities to maintain standard quality execution.

• Coating Mill Oversight: Oversee Coating Mill operations to ensure full compliance with project specifications.

• Stakeholder Communication: Present quality performance, inspection findings, and data trends to project coordinators and stakeholders.

• Corrective Actions: Support implementation of corrective action plans and quality initiatives.

• HSE & Quality Culture: Promote safe working practices and uphold a strong culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Key Requirements & Eligibility

• Location Preference: Candidates residing locally or in the surrounding area of Germany, will be given priority.

• Work Authorization: A valid European Union work visa / authorization to work in the EU is mandatory.

Qualifications & Background

• Experience: Proven experience as a Lead Inspector / Senior QC Inspector in a Pipe Mill environment.

• Standards Expertise: Strong practical knowledge and hands-on experience with API 5L (mandatory).

• Manufacturing Knowledge: Extensive background in pipe manufacturing and fabrication processes.

• QA/QC Core Competencies: Solid understanding of quality assurance, testing, and inspection requirements.

• Analytical Skills: Proven track record in reviewing quality data, spotting trends, and executing troubleshooting steps.

• Leadership: Ability to provide effective technical leadership and guidance to Floor Inspectors and project teams.

• Coating Operations: Experience with coating operations and Coating Mill oversight is highly desirable.

• Communication: Excellent technical reporting, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Autonomy & Decision-Making: Ability to prioritize quality issues independently and make sound technical decisions under deadline pressure.
